Robby Tandrian is a second-year JD student at the University of Victoria, with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. He was born and raised in Ketapang, West Borneo, Indonesia, a region rich in biodiversity but heavily impacted by deforestation. Growing up near the natural habitat of endangered orangutans sparked Robby’s passion for environmental conservation and continues to shape his interest in environmental law.
Outside of law school, Robby enjoys immersing himself in nature through hiking, trail running, cycling, swimming, and backpacking. Some of his most memorable adventures include hiking to the summit of Mt. Merapi – an active volcano in Indonesia, backpacking from Singapore to Thailand by land and meditating in a remote jungle temple in Thailand.
