Yutah Helten is a second year JD student at UVic’s Faculty of Law. He completed a bachelor’s of Arts in 2022 at McGill University, where he majored in Political Science and minored in Environment and Japanese language. Between October 2023 and June 2024, Yutah interned as a researcher for the Institute for Sustainable Energy Policies (ISEP) in Tokyo, Japan where he was inspired to learn more about environmental and renewable energy law and policy. He has also lifeguarded during summers on the Vancouver beaches since 2018. At UVic, Yutah is a part of the Environmental Law Club and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Club. In his free time, Yutah enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, going to the gym, and reading.
